$90 down here in Melbourne at Melb Central EB, the same as each chapter before it has been. CE was $100.
Actually I think I only paid $65 odd for Prophecies as they were having a sale or something.

The latest EB(AU) catalog says that GW:NF standard edition is $89.95, and CE is $99.95, so if any EB staff tell you different just show them their own catalog and ask them if they're sure.
It also says they'll be available on 26th October, but I'll believe that when I see it.

lol. when a friend of mine wrang up to inquire about the preorder pack, they told him he couldnt buy it seperatly. when he said that on their website it clearly stated otherwise they hung up on him.
I dont understand why they limit it to eb.
Im considering whether or not to travel 400km to get my copy .I'm pretty annoyed, as are the other 15 people in my town that play this game. please anet use some common sense and offer your product to different companies.

Thats still a markup of 10 extra $ as opposed to everywhere else[stores other than EB(Au)], which is the OPs point. Best Buy America has CE for $70/Standard for $50. A slight markup for shipping this game to a country outside of its "territory" is to be expected (I guess...) but EB is charging for more than just shippign it seems...

Keep in mind that we are talking about Aussie dollars here not US Dollars...
$50 USD = $65 AUD
$89.95 is a pretty standard price for new PC Games in Australia, has been for over 7 years. EB aren't doing anything terribly wrong if they sell the SE for $89.95 AUD, it would be bad if the sold it for $99.95 AUD which was what Lady was complaining about.
Lady, given this latest news regarding the catalogue, I'll wager you just got some idiot employee that didn't actually have a clue and was just guessing at the price! either that or EB is BrisVegas are a buch of #$*%@$#!

Isn't the average price for a game in the US around 50 US dollars? Bit sad that we pay 25 aussie bucks on top of that here.

The current price for games was probably set a few years back when the Aussie dollar had fallen to as low as half a US dollar, and the retailers just haven't bothered to reset prices because they're still getting away with it...

Lady Lozza it's nice to see another Brisbanite here!
We have preordered our Nightfall CE and the receipt says 99.95. This is from the one in the Myer Centre. I also already have all my pre-release packs from them (if this is out of the norm it may just be because my boyfriend harassed them because we never got ours from Factions CE).
My friend from NSW says that in the store they said the game wont be in until November 9. We just called EB Myer Centre and they said release was 27th, but we won't know if that's when they actually get it IN, because the girl had no idea what she was talking about.. I bet I get a call in a couple of days saying there's a delay and we have to wait an extra TWO freaking weeks.
EB is completely slack and has terrible customer service. We have missed out on many pre-order or CE items for different games because they run out or because they give them out to people who aren't meant to get them or whatever. And I seem to recall Factions was delayed coming out (CE came out later than normal edition).
I hope to god something gets done about this because it's frustrating for people who cant order these games online, etc.
I am super excited about Nightfall but if EB screws up again I'm going to be so enraged!!!

The CE for Factions wasn't EB Game's fault though right? I was of the understanding that there weren't enough copies of the CE printed/made.
If the guy at Toombul is to be believed (and he did sound very believable and maybe a little addicted to Guild Wars), then we should get the game on time.
PS EB Games is a very strange place, some of the franchised stores are actually pretty good, but others are just plain useless. I mean I live nowhere near toombul, but have found that the customer service at that franchised store is pretty damn good.

All this feedback is making me feel a lot better
I'm hoping that my store has simply mis-read the deal on their homemade poster and the price (99.95) is actually the price for the CE.
I remember the one copy that I saw of the original (Prophecies) CE was going for a ridiculous price, maybe ~120? and that this is where they have pulled their CE price from. With everyone saying that the price at their store is standard, I'll just get whoever serves me to ring well Toombul or something to confirm the price.
BTW - My local EB is pretty bad, so is the nearest one after that. I've found EB at Chermside pretty ok the times that I've been in there but that is quite a distance for me to go... However since I've made 90% of my purchases from Gameplay.co.uk for the last 3 years knowing what EB stores know their products isn't really my area of expertise.
Oh, to explain HOW bad EB out here is - none bar one of the staff game, and he is an FPS freak, going so far as to try and convince customers that FPS is way better than RPGs - apparently we don't really know what we want when we walk into the store.. He drones on and on about CS How yesterday is that!

i have the same issue, my EB store (Northland ,Victoria ~ no there arent Charr in my 'Northland' xD) said the basic edition of GW:NF was a ridiculous price of $94.99 ~ and the CE / GW:NF is $109.95.
Personally for me, $95 for a game, a PC game at that is far too high.
All the other games on the market (totally new, mind you) are priced on the
$80~$90 zone. i can undearstand playing 85 bucks for GW:NF, but 95 bucks!?
Thats ridiculous.
Well done A-nerf ~ you managed to screw the Australian Community over again.

Pre ordered mine from Adelaide Rundle Mall EB $10 for pre release pack then $89.95 for CE total $99.95 for CE. I bought Factions SE for $99.95 from a private PC games store back when I was living in Mt Gambier. It will be possible to buy Nighfall from other stores other then EB but they may not have it on time and expect to pay more :S

The good news is that I paid standard tier 1 prices. According to my boyfriend who I got to pick it up for me - my flatmate refused there were two sales clerks arguing about the price. Turns out they ran the CBD store to settle the argument, and no "price match" was necessary. Nonetheless, anyone who is getting "screwed over" as someone put it, I recommend to price match with other EB stores.

EB's nearest store to me is 400km away.
Thanks again, this third releases has the same problems as the others. No one here carries it. I was told a number of times via email that the EB exclusive problem would be changed. It of course wasn't.
I've never seen such a poor distribution of a popular general release?

The CE seems to be more expensive in the UK, too. It's anything from £8-£18 more than the £31 I paid for Prophecies. At least the SE can be had cheaply over here, though - I've gone with a £17.99 SE + pre-order pack bundle from Amazon.co.uk. The big boxes are nice, but not £40-£50 nice.

There is always gameshead.com.au and gameswarhouse.com.au
Just buy the Collectors edition, you'd be absolute num-nut not too, as the packaging and content's are of surpreme quality!
Some games cost more then others, look at Microsoft Flight Simulator X $110 ?, so it's not Guild Wars in particular.
Anyway far as im concerned anything that moves around a bracket of $20, really aint worth my time whinging or worrying about..
But thats just me.
